What is the Immediate Loading Method?

The immediate loading method is an advanced surgical technique that allows a fixed prosthesis to be attached to dental implants on the very same day as the implant placement surgery. Unlike traditional implant procedures, where patients must wait three to six months between the placement of the implant and the attachment of the final teeth, the immediate loading method eliminates this waiting period entirely.

At Tirana Dental Clinic, we have refined this protocol over 20 years of clinical practice, making it our signature technique. Patients arrive at our clinic in the morning without teeth and leave the same evening with a complete, fixed, functional smile.

How Does Immediate Loading Work?

1. Computer-guided implant surgery Using a 3D CBCT scan taken before the procedure, we produce a digital surgical guide that directs the placement of each implant with sub-millimetre precision. This reduces surgical trauma, shortens operating time, and ensures the implant is positioned at the exact angle and depth required to carry an immediate load.

2. Premium implants with high primary stability Not all implants are suitable for immediate loading. We use implant systems specifically engineered for this protocol, including Nobel Biocare, Straumann, and Osstem which achieve the level of primary stability on day one that makes it clinically safe to attach a fixed prosthesis immediately after surgery.

3. In-house CAD/CAM laboratory Our on-site dental laboratory is located within the clinic itself. The moment your implants are placed, our laboratory team begins producing your prosthesis using CAD/CAM technology. There are no delays waiting for an external lab. Your teeth are designed, milled, and finished in the same building, on the same day.

4. 20 years of clinical refinement The immediate loading protocol requires a level of surgical and prosthetic coordination that only comes with experience. Our team has performed this procedure thousands of times across a wide range of clinical situations, different bone densities, different arch configurations and different patient needs. That experience is what makes same-day results reliably achievable.

  • Morning: Arrival and pre-surgical assessment You are welcomed at Tirana International Airport with a private transfer to your hotel. After settling in, you attend the clinic for a final review of your 3D CBCT scan and a detailed consultation with your surgeon. Every step of the procedure is explained before anything begins.

Mid-morning: Implant placement Any remaining teeth that cannot be saved are extracted under local anaesthesia or conscious sedation. The implants are then placed using the computer-guided surgical protocol. The procedure typically takes two to three hours depending on the number of implants and the complexity of the case.

Afternoon: Laboratory production While you rest comfortably, our in-house CAD/CAM laboratory produces your fixed prosthesis. Digital impressions taken immediately after surgery are used to design a prosthesis that fits your exact implant positions and bite.

Late afternoon: Fitting and attachment Your prosthesis is fitted, adjusted, and attached to the implants. Bite alignment is carefully checked and refined. You leave the clinic the same evening with fixed, stable, functional teeth.

Days 2 to 5: Recovery and monitoring Our team monitors your recovery throughout your stay in Tirana. Minor adjustments may be made during this period. You return home after four to five days with a 10-year written warranty and a full implant passport.

The immediate loading method is suitable for many patients but not all. A 3D CBCT scan is required to confirm candidacy before the procedure is confirmed.

Good candidates include:

  • Patients with sufficient bone density to achieve high primary implant stability
  • Patients with good general health and no uncontrolled systemic conditions
  • Patients who have lost all or most of their teeth in one or both arches
  • Patients currently wearing removable dentures who want a fixed solution
  • Patients with multiple failing teeth requiring full-arch rehabilitation

Cases that may require modified planning:

  • Moderate bone. Loss may require bone grafting or a sinus lift as a preparatory procedure
  • Heavy smokers. Smoking affects healing; a reduction plan is recommended before surgery
  • Patients with bruxism. Heavy grinding can be managed with a night guard post-treatment

Cases where a staged approach is recommended:

  • Uncontrolled diabetes or other systemic health conditions that affect healing
  • Severe bone atrophy requiring staged bone regeneration before implant placement

We will always give you an honest assessment. If immediate loading is not the right protocol for your specific situation, we will tell you clearly and recommend the most appropriate alternative.

  • Computer-guided 3D surgical planning and digital surgical guide
  • Four to six premium dental implants (Nobel Biocare, Straumann, or Osstem)
  • In-house CAD/CAM fixed prosthesis, produced and fitted the same day
  • All consultations, 3D CBCT scan, extractions if required, and surgical appointments
  • Private airport transfers
  • Hotel accommodation
  • 10-year written warranty
  • Implant passport documenting every detail of your treatment

The complete immediate loading treatment is available from €3,800 per arch, which includes four to six premium implants, a fixed same-day prosthesis produced in our in-house CAD/CAM lab, all surgical appointments, private airport transfers, hotel accommodation, and a 10-year written warranty.

Compared to the same protocol in Italy (€10,000–€14,000) or the United Kingdom (£16,000–£22,000), immediate loading at Tirana Dental Clinic represents a saving of up to 70% with the same premium implant brands, the same CAD/CAM technology, and the same clinical standards.
